Vanessa Is Stumped on a Birthday Gift for Zac

Vanessa Hudgens had better get cracking! Boyfriend Zac Efron’s 21st birthday is just 10 days away – and she doesn’t have a gift.

“I don’t know [what to get] yet,” she laughingly told PEOPLE at the London premiere of High School Musical 3: Senior Year (out Oct. 24). “But I guess I have to think of something quick!”
At least Hudgens, 19, doesn’t have to worry about planning an elaborate party. “I am sure I will be celebrating with some family and close friends – nothing extravagant,” Efron told PEOPLE. “I am going to stay in.”

The real-life couple joined costars Ashley Tisdale (in a dreamy Jenny Packham dress and Rene Caovilla high heels) and Corbin Bleu on the red carpet amid screams from about 8,000 fans in Leicester Square.

When asked about his grooming routine, Efron, who looked dapper in a black suit, insisted he was something of a minimalist. “I usually take a shower,” he told reporters.

He also talked about his long-awaited big screen kiss with Hudgens’ character, Gabriella. “It was about time,” he said. “We are seniors. We are adults.”
