SACRAMENTO, CA - Riding the success of Disney’s wildly-popular “High School Musical” franchise, actress-singer Vanessa Hudgens brought her teen-friendly act to the Cal Expo Golden One stage at the California State Fair Friday.

Local fans came out to see the 19-year-old pop princess, who played shy student Gabriella Montez in the massive teen hits “High School Musical” and “High School Musical 2.” “High School Musical 3″ hits theatres this October.

Hudgens, a Salinas native, used her new-found popularity to secure a recording contract and has recorded two albums. Her latest, “Identified,” was released last month.

All State Fair concerts are free with Fair admission.
